Share a document with a customer
Send an invoice, quote or delivery note by link so your customer can view it and download the PDF without an account.
Any finalized document can be shared as a link. Your customer opens it in a browser, reads it and downloads the PDF — no account, no password, no app.
Send the link
Open the document and choose Send. Add a recipient — their email address, and their name if you want it on the record — and send. Each recipient gets their own link, containing a token unique to them.
If you would rather hand the link over yourself, Update & get link (or Approve & get link on a document awaiting approval) gives you one without emailing anything.
Back on the document, the recipients table shows who it went to and when, with Copy link to get that person's link again.
Anyone holding a link can view the document, so treat it like the document itself: send it to the customer, not to a public channel.
What your customer sees
The shared page shows the document as your customer would receive it, with a download button for the PDF. On Standard and Premium it carries your branding instead of ours.
Accepting, rejecting and messaging
On Premium, the shared page can also do more than display:
- The customer can accept or reject the document.
- They can message you back from the page.
- You can require a one-time code by email before an acceptance counts, if you want a stronger record of who agreed.
Every view, download and acknowledgement is logged with a timestamp, so you can see whether a quote was actually opened before you chase it.
Revoking a link
Sent a document to the wrong address? In the recipients table, choose Revoke on that row. The link stops opening the document immediately — anyone following it afterwards sees "This link is no longer active".
Revoking does not erase the record. That recipient's activity trail — what they viewed, downloaded and said — stays on the document, which is usually the reason you wanted to withdraw the link in the first place.
Sending the document to the same recipient again also replaces their link: the new one works, the old one stops. So re-sending to a corrected address and revoking a wrong one are two ways to the same place.
One limit worth being honest about: a PDF your customer has already downloaded is in their hands, and revoking a link cannot reach it.
